Toubkal (4,167m) 4 Four Thousand – Morocco
El Mount Toubkal at 4,167 meters, it is the highest peak in North Africa. It is located in the Toubkal National Park, in Morocco, which was founded during the French protectorate in 1942. Its extension is 100,000 ha, and it is located in the Western High Atlas, between the N'Fiss and Ourika valleys.

The Toubkal, is a mountainous massif of volcanic origin. Its embedded valleys and its berber culture, its adobe buildings, terraced crops, rock carvings, abundant flora and fauna and the friendly welcome of its people, make this trekking essential.
Thistrekking is spectacular and of a high level, for demanding mountaineers. It's about a circular trekking in which nothing less than four summits that exceed 4,000 meters high. As a highlight we will have the prize of the ascent to the highest in Morocco and the entire High Atlas, the Toubkal with its 4,167m, an experience that should not be missing in your backpack. A unique opportunity to get to know these spectacular mountains and a fascinating and different culture, which we are lucky to have so close.
Program:
Meeting point: Aeropuerto de Marrakech. Duration: 7 days.
Day 1:Meeting at the airport Marrakesh (460m), welcome by our local guide, and transfer to the hotel. Free time in Marrakesh. Dinner at the hotel and explanation of the route.
Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we will make the transfer to the town Berber of Imlil (1,770m), in the heart of the Toubkal valley, about 64 km south of the city of Marrakech, our trekking starting point, where our local team (local accompanying guide and mules) awaits us to start the trekking. We start walking along mule trails, to ascend to the hill of Tizi n'Mzik (2,489m), where we will enjoy beautiful views of the Imlil valley and we will begin to see the high mountains that will accompany us on this trekking. A short descent will bring us closer to the refuge of Azib Tamsoult at 2,200m where we will enjoy our first night in the mountains and beautiful views towards the Azzadene Valley.
Day 3: We continue enjoying the impressive landscape of the Atlas Massif. Today we will begin to see the great mountains of this spectacular massif. Beautiful route that begins passing through the beautiful Irhoulidene waterfalls. We continue up to the viewpoints of Arhel, where we will enjoy beautiful views of the Azzadene valley and where we can see the steep climb that awaits us by the Tiguinuria court to him Aguelzim pass, at 3,500m, a perfect climb to get a good acclimatization for the summit days that await us ahead. From the pass we can see the summit of Toubkal with its 4,167 meters. A short descent will lead us to the Mouflons/Neltner refuge at 3,207m, where we will spend the night and enjoy a pleasant and deservedDinner.
Day 4: Ascension day to Toubkal (4,167m). We will get up early to make the ascent safely. We will first go up to the hole de Akhbi n'Tizi (3,700m), from where we continue gently ascending through a wide channel, to reach the Toubkal Pass (3,950m), from where we will first climb to the top of the Toubkal West, at 4,030m. We return to the pass to ascend through la Toubkal Ridge, which will leave us in the Toubkal summit at 4,167 meters, where if the day allows it, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Atlas. We will descend to the Mouflons/Neltner refuge, where we will spend the night and enjoy a well-deserved dinner, after having reached our main objective.
Day 5: Today our objective is the peaks Ras of 4,083m and Timezguida of 4,089m, which, even though they are lower than Toubkal, do not detract from it, since the approach is more technical, and precautions must be taken. Spectacular high mountain day with short climbs and an alpine environment that will please everyone. We will try to get up early to see the sunrise on the summits and enjoy a restful afternoon in the refuge. Dinner and overnight at the Mouflons/Neltner refuge.
Day 6: Descent day to Imlil, with a stop at the pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamharauch to enjoy a good meal. We continue descending towards the town of Aremd, already close to Imlil, where we will spend the night in the wonderful Riad Tizi Mizik, where we will spend the night and enjoy a well-deserved dinner, after having achieved our objectives.
Day 7: Breakfast at Riad Tizi Mizik. Transfer to Marrakech or Marrakech airport. Farewell and end of the trip.
