Two-day course, with overnight stay and half board included . It will be carried out in a guarded shelter or establishment with similar characteristics.

 

During the course we will deal with basic points and different orientation techniques , with the aim of planning an itinerary .  The course will have a theoretical part, but it will be eminently practical .

 

Program:

1. Basic concepts. Longitude latitude. projections.

2. The Map.

3. The Compass.

4. The Altimeter.

5. Other Orientation Techniques (Sun, Clock, Nature,...).

6. Digital cartography and GPS.

 

It includes:

• Certified Mountain Guide with AEGM-UIMLA accreditation.

• One night accommodation in Mountain Refuge.

• A half board (dinner + breakfast).

• Map 1:25,000 of the Western Massif of the Picos de Europa.

• Accident insurance and RC.

 

Does not include:

• Transport.

• Any other item not mentioned as included.

 

• Go with a compass with a transparent base. If you have a GPS, bring it too.  

• There are blankets/quilts in the shelter and sheets can be rented. You can bring your sleeping bag or sheet bag.

• The route may be altered depending on weather conditions, availability at the refuge and/or other types of circumstances, always keeping in mind the safety of the group.
