Circular Posets Peak - Pyrenees

In the Benasque valley , in the Aragonese Pyrenees, is the second highest peak in the Pyrenees: Pico Posets , 3,375 meters high . Staying in the different refuges that surround this mountain, we will rotate 360 degrees around this magnificent mountain, also trying to climb to its summit, overcoming a significant gap, although with little technical difficulty. The views over the numerous peaks that exceed 3,000 meters will more than deserve the effort made. A high altitude trek, in a magnificent setting.

For five days, we will visit this beautiful Natural Park of the Pyrenees , staying in its shelters and getting to know some of the most emblematic and beautiful places of this spectacular massif.



Meeting point: In the town of San Juan de Plan.                Duration: 5 days.  


Day 1: Viadós Refuge – Estós Refuge . From the Viadós refuge, we will go up to the Port of Chistau, to descend to the Estós refuge, following the GR-11.


Distance:  12km             Slope:  + 1,043m.  - 803  m.

Day 2: Estós Refuge – Ángel Orús Refuge. From the Estós Refuge we will go to the Ángel Orús refuge through the beautiful Batisielles lakes. We go up to the Pllana pass to descend to the Llardaneta valley and head to the Ángel Orús refuge, where we will spend the night.


Distance:  13km             Slope:  + 1,139m.  - 889 m.


Day 3:  Ángel Orús Refuge - Pico Posets - Ángel Orús Refuge . Day of ascent to the second highest peak in the Pyrenees, El Posets or Pico Llardana at 3,375 m., along the normal route of the fonda canal and collado del tooth, which will take us to overcome a drop of about 1,400 metres. Descent along the same itinerary.

Distance:  11km             Slope:  + 1,433 m.  - 1,433 m.


Day 4:  Ángel Orús Refuge - Viadós Refuge . We begin the day with the ascent towards the Collado de Eriste, and from there descend towards the Vall de la Ribereta, which will lead us to the Viadós refuge, where we will spend our last night.


Distance:  15km             Slope:  + 1,576m.  - 1984  m.


Day 5: Biadòs Refuge – Parking . We will descend to the nearby parking lot, where we will conclude this magnificent trek.


Distance:  2km              Slope:  + 5m  - 230 meters

Total distance:  53km         Total slope:  + 4,538m.  - 4,538 m.          Level: ***

  • In the shelters you can buy picnics for each day, avoiding carrying weight.

  • The route may be altered depending on the weather conditions, availability in the shelters and/or other types of circumstances, always keeping in mind the safety of the group.
